An Exciting Internship Opportunity
Working with Children with
Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Corvallis PDD/Autism Parent Support Group is looking for committed people willing to be a social mentor and friend to a child with autism (the kids call them "Play Buddies").  Depending on the age, interests, and abilities of the child, a student would spend time weekly (for a minimum of a term) with the child participating in a variety of activities which may include: bike riding, bowling, going to the park, swimming, games, going for ice cream, hiking, or other excursions.  It is through these activities that our children will learn manners, taking turns, sharing, and social give and take.

Our Support Group represents many children who have various interests and degrees of skills.  we would like to provide our children with some fun and one-on-one nurturing socialization.

Basic autism information and training will be provided.  If you are interested in making a difference in a child's life, please call:
