Clinical Nutrition, Nutritional Biochemistry
2. Approximately how many individuals with autism have you treated, and what is the age range?
Several thousand - as young as 12 months and as old as 50 years.
3. Do you usually have a waiting list?
Sometimes - no longer than about 1 month
4. On the average, how long do you spend face-to-face with a new patient for an initial consultation?
2 - 2 1/2 hours
5. After the first consultation, what is the average length of an appointment?
1 - 2 hours. I hour if a simple follow up, reviewing current issues and future changes. Up to 2 hours if there are test results.
6. Are your patients advised to use special diets such as GF/CF, SCD, low-oxalate, etc.?
Yes
7. Can you collaborate with other specialists we will be dealing with (e.g., gastroenterologists)?
Yes and continuously do. I interface with a range of health care providers and ensure the needs of the patient are being adequately met.
8. Are you willing to collaborate on treatment and testing with a child’s pediatrician if he/she is receptive?
Always
9. Do you or anyone in your office speak languages other than English?
No
10. Are you willing to offer phone consultations for distant patients?
We do continuously. Have patients in London and all over the United States
11. Do you provide any form of after-hours support?
If necessary. Patients will be contacted at any time. We also provide Saturday office hours.
12. Do you sell proprietary nutritional supplements or have a sales agreement with supplement suppliers? Do you sell supplements at list price or less?
All supplements are under manufacturers labels. Products are sold at list price. Discounts are offered whenever possible.
13. Do you take insurance? If not, do you provide organized, coded insurance forms?
No
14. Do you bill for laboratory tests done by commercial laboratories? How do you break down the fees?
No. I use a lot of specialty labs. Fees are paid directly to lab, by patient. Patients are given physician prices. No income is derived from testing.
15. Is there a reason you might not bill for an office visit?
No. All visits are villed for and coded. Receipts are givent to patients to submit to insurance.
